"Sovadron" Character Boards: Shakairra and Rain

Lt. Shakairra Romazi isn’t sure who will kill her first: the enemy’s soldiers, or her own.

Her money is on the latter.

After barely surviving their country’s last war, Shakairra and her soldiers are pulled into another. Goblins have been kidnapping citizens and selling them into slavery. But when a foreign noble arrives to investigate the death of his sister, Shakairra learns that the greater threat is within her own ranks.

As the body count climbs and her allies diminish, Shakairra must place her trust--never in abundant supply--into four strangers to save her country. But they soon realize this conflict is greater than that. And before this is over, even the blood of gods will be spilled.

Back in May, I managed to raise just enough money to hire illustrator John Hawkins to draw the first chapter of my graphic novel Sovadron , which will be released in November 2018. While he was doing that, I decided to make a couple of character boards for funzies. It's my first time trying my hand at these things, so they're not the best. (There's a reason I'm hiring someone else to do all the art stuff. But they're still fun, and I was bored.)

There are five main characters--almost as if there's some sort of five-man band about to be formed. Weird. We meet two of them in first chapter: Shakairra Romazi, and Rain the She-Wolf.

By the way, the quotes used in the boards are taken directly from the script, Shakairra's from chapter three and Rain's from chapter...four? Five? I don't know, I'm not one of those authors that memorizes their whole damn manuscript. It's after Shakairra says her thing and right before shit gets real for everyone else.
